Celebrating pi and Einstein
BRING A PIE FOR PI DAY: The OH WOW! Roger and Gloria Jones Science and Technology Center, 11 W. Federal St., Youngstown will hold a “Pi Day” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. The event will celebrate Albert Einstein’s birthday and the peculiar number pi with special activities.
Bring a pie and admission will be pi – $3.14. Pies must be pre-packaged and will be donated to a local food bank.
Make Magic Math will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday with participants making magic math kits.
SOCIETY TO MEET: The Hubbard Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the senior center located in the city municipal building, 220 W. Liberty St., with a program on the Holocaust. Guest speaker is Ken Cole of the Jewish Cultural Center.
SPONSORING EVENT: Blessed Sacrament Parish’s Relay for Life team and the Youngstown Business and Professional Women will co-host the Trumbull New Theatre matinee comedy production of “Send Me No Flowers” at 3 p.m. Sunday. There will a drawing and raffles. Call 330-372-2215.
LUNCHEON SET: Girard Multigenerational Center will have a Luncheon with Judy as the Red Hatters at 11:30 am. Monday at Scenna’s Restaurant in McKinley Heights. The event will honor Jude Signarello, who is retiring from the center.
YOGA OFFERED: Beginning Yoga will be held from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. each Monday through April 21 at St. Joseph Health Center, 667 Eastland Ave., Warren. Certified yoga instructor Dawn Perhacs will lead the adults-only class. Class size is limited. To register, call 330-480-3070.
MARCH MEALS FUNDRAISER: Trumbull Mobile Meals and Premier Designs Jewelry will host “Bling and Bingo” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the TMM office, 323 E. Market St., Warren. Attendees will be able to play bingo and win prizes of jewelry.
Twenty percent of the sales will be donated to the TMM “March for Meals” fundraiser. An additional 30 percent of the sales will be in a jewelry donation for use in future fundraisers.
