Archeology to be topic of program
HOWLAND SOCIETY HOSTS SPEAKER: The Howland Historical Society will host a program on archeology at 7 p.m. today at the administration building, 205 Niles-Cortland Road, N.E. The program “Ancients and Indians of the Mahoning Valley Area,” will be presented by archeology assistant Bill Drolsbaugh. The program is free.
CEMETERY UPKEEP: The Trumbull County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 10:15 a.m. today at the Thomas Meeting Room of the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library in Warren. Speaker is Mark Morton of Gravestone Guardians who will discuss how to deal with the tombstones in the Pioneer Cemetery that is across the street from the library. The Pioneer Cemetery is the society’s community service project.
OPEN HOUSE: Victory Christian School, 2053 Pleasant Valley Road, Liberty, will hold an open house at 6:30 p.m. today.
WORKSHOP PLANNED: A free workshop on emergency preparedness will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Weyer Tactical, 11970 North Union Ave., Alliance. Topics will include water purification, food storage, how to develop an evacuation plan, making a 72-hour emergency kit for evacuation and more.
