Students mark 100th day of school

BROOKFIELD – Brookfield student Brendan Trump had the number 100 on his mind recently.

He bowled a 100 game, is a member of the 100th senior class to graduate from Brookfield High School and attended the 100th day of school with other seniors for the last time.

Members of Brookfield High School’s 100th senior class recently celebrated their 100th day of school by spending the day enjoying a buffet lunch at The Gentry in Hubbard and then a gathering for bowling at Bell Wick Bowl.

Diane Riefstahl, senior class adviser, said the goal at Bell Wick Bowl was to score a perfect 100 game and win a $100 gift certificate. Trump, who is from Brookfield and attends the Trumbull Career / Technical Center, managed to achieve the goal on his first game. Trump won $100 towards the cost of his senior trip.

The trip was paid for by fundraising events sponsored by the senior class and Riefstahl, who coordinated the trip.

“Any student able to bowl an exact score of 100 will have his/her choice of either $100 Eastwood Mall gift certificate or $100 deducted from his/her senior trip,” she said.

The 100th day of school for the seniors fell on Feb. 4 because of snow days the district has had.
