Center gets video browser

YOUNGSTOWN – OH?WOW!?The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology in Youngstown received assistance from VEC Inc., which sponsored a new video browser as well as a new public address system.

Suzanne Barbati, executive director at the center, said the video browser is very popular with the children and shows different videos on science topics.

She said VEC contributed to the growth of the center by their sponsorship.

Audra Carlson, education manager, said the video browser exhibit is part of an energy kiosk that showcases a variety of different energy sources, including solar and wind energy.

“This is used to showcase various science programs,” she said.

Currently, there is a video showcasing the arctic.

Chris Jaskiewicz, president of VEC Inc., said, ”It is honor to team up with OH?WOW! It was an easy decision to be part of this wonderful organization.”

Barbati said the video browser can be used during the popular Sunday Science day for children.

“This is another way the center is moving forward. We are very thankful for VEC’s support,” Barbati said.
