Marketplace part of Black History Month
BLACK HISTORY MONTH INCLUDES MARKETPLACE: The African Studies Department in conjunction with Youngstown State University are holding their annual Black History Month marketplace from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday in the Kilcawly Center. The event is free and is part of various programs for Black History Month.
MICROSCOPES AT WORK: OH WOW! The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology, 11 W. Federal St., Youngstown, will hold “Make Microscopes” from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday where participants will explore optics, lenses and the anatomy of the human eye.
“African Americans in STEM” will be held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 5 and 12. The event will celebrate the many contributions made by African Americans in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
COALITION ON HEALTH TO MEET: The Creating Healthy Communities Coalition will meet at 2 p.m. today at Conference Room A at Trumbull County Educational Service Center, 6 000 Youngstown-Warren Road, Niles. Discussion will include coalition members sharing 2014 CHC projects.
BLUEGRASS EVENT: Country Sunrise Special with the Caney Creek Red Dust Mountain Boys will held from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson Community Center, 800 Gilmer Road, Leavittsburg. For information, call 330-792-8317.
