Family game night planned

SCHOOL PLANS GAME NIGHT: Lincoln K-8 School will hold a family game night for sixth-graders from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the cafeteria. Children must be accompanied by an adult. There will be games and door prizes.

The school is also planning a book fair Feb. 6 to 13, with special family events being planned for Feb. 11 and 12.

LIBRARY PLANS KIDS EVENTS: The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library will hold Game On from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the main library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W., for children ages 10 and older. A Kids Create will be held at 5 p.m. today at the Brookfield Branch, 7032 Grove St. for ages kindergarten to sixth grade.

LIBRARY HOSTS BOOK SALE: The Hubbard Friends of the Library is holding an “Under the Stairs” book sale daily at the library, 436 W. Liberty St. Donations are being accepted at the circulation desk. All proceeds benefit the library.

VOLUNTEER CLASSES: Hospice of the Valley’s new volunteer class will be 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Feb. 8 at Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, and Mondays Feb. 3 to March 3 at McGonigle Funeral Home, 1090 E. State St., Sharon, Pa.

Hospice volunteers serve in a variety of ways including companions for hospice patients at home or in nursing homes as well as helping at the Hospice House in-patient facility. They also provide respite services to family members. New volunteers are needed for all areas of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties and western Pennsylvania.

Volunteer assignments are made close to the volunteer’s home. Future training programs are planned for 1 to 4:30 p.m. Fridays March 7 to April 4 at St. Joe’s at the Mall, Eastwood Mall, Niles. For more information or to register, call 330-788-1992.
