Basketball game benefit planned

DONKEYS TAKE TO THE FLOOR: A donkey basketball game will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Mineral Ridge High School gymnasium to benefit Fairhaven School and Special Olympics. Staff members and friends of Fairhaven, along with Trumbull County School District representatives, will participate in the game.

Tickets are available by calling the school at 330-652-5811. Arrangements for the event were made through Buckeye Donkey Ball LLC of Columbus.

SOCIETY TO MEET: The Howland Historical Society will hold a discussion about Ernie Hall presented by Bill Griffin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sloas Airport on North River Road in Howland.

TECH SAVY MAKERS: OH?WOW!?The Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology, 11 W. Federal St., Youngstown, will hold a Make Tech Devices class from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday. Participants will make their own tech devices while exploring circuitry during the workshop. Call 330-744-5914 for more information.

GUATEMALA PRESENTATION: Eric Thompson of Newton Falls will make a presentation on Guatemala at 9:30 a.m. Jan. 20 at Lake Vista of Cortland, 303 N. Mecca St., Clubhouses as part of the Breakfast at the Lake programs.

Thompson will share his experience of traveling with a mission team and spending time with the people of the mountain villages of southern Guatemala.
