Christmas event set for Saturday
CULTURAL CENTER HOSTS EVENT: The Brier Hill Cultural Center will welcome the St. Casimir Society for Kolachi and Koledy “A Christmas Homecoming” from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the center, formerly St. Casimir’s Church in the historic Brier Hill Neighborhood, 145 Jefferson St., Youngstown. The event is free to the public. For the first time since its doors were closed by the Diocese of Youngstown in 2012, St. Casimir’s parishioners will return to their home of 106 years for a holiday homecoming featuring St. Casimir’s Choir leading a Polish and American Christmas sing-a-long. An appetizer reception will follow. RECOVERY PROGRAM OFFERED: Help Hotline Crisis Center Inc. Recovery Program is offering a two-day Wellness Recovery Action Plan free mental health wellness workshops are being planned for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 6 and 7. A free lunch will be served. Call Nancy at 330-747-5111 if interested.
BANK SPONSORS TRIP: Cortland Banks recently sponsored a trip for third-grade students from Williamson Elementary to attend the Oh Wow! Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center in Youngstown. The trip focused on financial literacy where lessons were presented at the center. Volunteers from Cortland Banks conducted the lessons that focused on students being better savers.
