Warren SOUP to host micro-funding event

WARREN – Warren SOUP will host a micro-funding event from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the The Movement, 480 E. Market St., to provide funding for creative local projects that will make a positive impact on Warren.

Sheila Calko, a Warren SOUP committee member, said a committee of Warren residents formed after the first Warren SOUP was introduced to the community by Earth Angel Farm in early October. She said the committee decided to set a goal of holding at least four Warren SOUP events each year.

Those attending will hear presentations from no more than four local groups seeking funding for projects and have the opportunity to ask questions before voting for their favorite project.

Calko said the winner will be announced at the end of the evening and will receive the money raised from the event. She said winners will also attend future events to share their project’s progress.

Holly Maggiano, Warren SOUP planning committee and director of Earth Angel Farm, said there is great depth of talent and creativity in Warren area residents who advocate positive change in the community.

To apply to present a project, call Calko at 330-881-7698 or sheila@tnpwarren.org.

Free parking is available across from the Movement.
