Turkeys collected for local mission

FROZEN TURKEYS BEING COLLECTED: Frozen turkeys for the Warren Family Mission will be collected from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday 223 Niles Cortland Road, Warren (in front of the Howard Hanna office), organized by local resident Chuck Stowe.

Two years ago, Stowe collected 20 turkeys and he would like to get more turkeys for the mission this year. Last year he was ill and unable help.

CLOTHING GIVEAWAY: Cortland Trinity’s Closet will hold a free clothing and lunch giveaway from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, 2576 McCleary Jacoby Road. This is the last giveaway for the year. Items are being accepted with a need for men’s clothing.

SUPPORT GROUP STARTED: A support group, Mothers of Incarcerated Children, will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Free Indeed Ministries Building, West Market Street, Warren. The group will include prayer, support and discussion. Call 234-600-5806.

OFFICE COLLECTING FOR ANIMALS: Dr. David Morvay’s office, 628 Niles Cortland Road, Suite 101, Howland, is holding a fundraiser to benefit local animal rescue groups. Christmas ornaments are being sold at the office.

GROUP OFFERS SUPPORT: Gamblers Anonymous, a 12-step fellowship of compulsive gamblers who want to recover from their gambling addictions, will meet in the Youngstown-Warren area.

A GA meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Friday at Westminster Church, 119 Stadium Drive, Boardman, and7:30 p.m. Sunday at Christ Church Presbyterian, 3425 Hopkins Road, Youngstown (in Cornersburg).
