Deaf groups on display at Kent
EXHIBIT TO SHOWCASE DEAF ORGANIZATIONS: The deaf and hearing communities are invited to learn about the local, state, national and international deaf organizations at “Deaf World Exhibit” from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at the rotunda of the Technology Building of the Kent State University at Trumbull in Champion. The workshop “How to Start Your Own Business” will be offered. Local deaf and American sign language organizations are welcome to set up and informational table. All proceeds to support the ASL Club.
BOOK SALE PLANNED: The Friends of the Howland Library will hold a book sale from 10 a.m to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Howland Branch, 9095 E. Market St., Howland. The Friends of the Howland Library use funds generated by the book sale to support programs and services of the library.
BLOCKWATCH TO MEET: Niles blockwatch will meet at 6:30 p.m. today in the multipurpose room at the First Presbyterian Church, 4 Summit St., Niles.
HUBBARD PLANS HOLIDAY DISPLAY: Hubbard city is planning its annual holiday festivities with decorated trees at the municipal building. Hubbard merchants, businesses, churches and organizations will decorate artificial Christmas trees to display in the lobby of the municipal building.
Santa Claus will arrive at the parade on Dec. 7. Trees are being decorated from Friday to Dec. 6. For information, call the mayor’s office at 330-534-3090.
SCOPE CENTER HOLDS FAIR: The Warren SCOPE Center, 220 W. Market St., Warren, will hold a health fair from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.
