Battle of Antietam is topic of talk

CIVIL WAR TOPIC OF PROGRAM: The Howland Historical Society will present Paul Sutliff, a Civil War re-enactor, who will discuss the battle of Antietam at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Howland administration building.

CHAMPION OFFERS WALK PROGRAM: Project Walk Warm will resume at Champion Middle School through April 3, 2014. Champion residents older than 18 may walk in the middle school from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday during the inclement winter weather. The building will not be available for use on days that school is closed due to weather or holidays. Walkers are required to sign in each day they walk. A nurse will be available the second Monday of each month from 3 to 3:30 p.m. to check blood pressures.

SOCIETY TO MEET: The Trumbull County Geneological Society will meet at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the Thomas Meeting Room at the Warren-Trumbull County Library. Lynn Morrow of Ashtabula County will speak of toys and dolls for the holidays. She will discuss how some toys played a role in our ancestors’ lives.

BLOCKWATCH TO MEET: The Hubbard Blockwatch will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Hubbard Public Library.

FUNDRAISER SET: A quarter auction fundraiser will be held for the Relay For Life team of St. Joseph Hospital’s Radiology Department at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Saxon Club, 710 Meridian Road, Austintown. RETIREES TO MEET: The AFSCME Retirees Chapter 128 will meet at 1 p.m. today at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2742 North Road N.E. The group meets to discuss the latest news on the offset. All members and new members are welcome.

GROUP TO MEET: Northwest Neighborhood Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Grace United Methodist Church in Warren. The group will be doing neighborhood patroling at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
