TNP?plans bike trail cleanup
CLEANUP PLANNED AT BIKE TRAIL: Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership will hold a neighborhood and bike trail cleanup from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. TNP will host a beautification project on Woodland Street N.E. between Laird Avenue and the Woodland Street bike trail. The group will clean up litter along the southern end of the bike trail, paint several fire hydrants as well as minor landscaping installation. Tools and supplies will be provided, however, volunteers are encouraged to bring rakes, brooms and shovels. Parking is at Mahoning Lighting and Maintenance, 848 Woodland St. N.E., Warren. CHURCH HOLDS TREAT EVENT: Hubbard First Presbyterian Church, 22 Westview Ave., will hold a trunk-or-treat event from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Toy donations will be sought at the event for ill children at Akron Children’s Hospital Boardman Campus. The event will include crafts, cornhole and an outdoor movie, weather permitting.
HISTORICAL HOME OPEN HOUSE: The Hubbard Historical Society’s McBride House will be open from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The McBride House, built in 1883, was the home of Charles and Ethel McBride following their wedding in 1909. Ethel’s wedding gown is on display along with a selection of other wedding gowns. The society is looking for old wedding pictures. Copies will be made and the original photos will be returned. Tours can be scheduled by calling Cecilia Cooper at 30-534-4247.
CENTER HOSTS GATHERING: Victory Christian Center, 3899 McCartney Road, Coitsville, will host a Generation to Generation “G3” gathering at 7 p.m. today. The event is sponsored by “Legacy,” a newly formed global network of ministry leaders and will feature world-renowned speakers Bishop Tommy Reid, Andre van Zyl and Pat Schatzline. The service is free and open to the public. The conference is the second such held at VCC and is designed to build upon this concept and begin a process of extending mentoring opportunities to ministry leaders across cultural, generational and denominational lines.
DINE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE: The Niles Relay For Life will hold a community fundraiser today through Sunday at Bob Evans, which is partnering with the American Cancer Society to raise funds to benefit the Relay For Life. Bob Evans will donate 15 percent of sales when a customer presents an attached flyer or newspaper article about this event at the time of check out.
SHRINE HOLDS TALK: The National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon will hold a talk, “Our Lady Of Guadalupe, Pray For Us!” at 4 p.m. Saturday.
