Nonviolence Week kicks off

PARADE AND RALLY TO PROMOTE NONVIOLENCE: The third annual nonviolence parade and rally will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday starting on Wood Street in front of the new Youngstown State University business school and proceed to downtown Youngstown where the rally will be held. GO PINK DAYS HELD: In honor of breast cancer awareness month Covelli Enterprises and Panera Bread are hosting the annual Go Pink Day today with all six Mahoning Valley Panera Bread bakery-cafes donating 100 percent of the proceeds from all Pink Ribbon Bagel sales to the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center. Throughout October, Panera Bread cafes will donate 10 percent of the proceeds from each Pink Ribbon Bagel sold. The funds from both the Pink Ribbon Bagel sales and the ZTA match will be presented at the annual Pink Ribbon Cheer Classic at YSU on Oct. 27.

SALE PLANNED: The Ladies Aid Society of Champion Presbyterian Church, 4997 Mahoning Ave. N.W., will hold its fall rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. There also will be a mini-bazaar and a bake sale. A continuous lunch will be served.

WALK TO REMEMBER: Northside Medical Center will host its 26th annual Walk to Remember from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Politis Auditorium on the ground floor of Medical Building A at Northside Medical Center, 500 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown. DEDICATION OF VAN: Humility of Mary Health Partners Physician Associates will hold a blessing and dedication of a new patient transport van at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Church Hill Family Health Center, 4694 Belmont Ave., Liberty. The van, which can accommodate six ambulatory and two wheelchair riders, is only for patient visits to HMHPPA practice and to all HMHPPA patients at no cost.
