Chocolate Fest set for Wednesday
ROTARY HOSTS CHOCOLATE FEST: The Warren Rotary Club’s ninth annual Chocolate Festival runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Packard Music Hall. There will be treats from 12 local vendors. The event will also include a wine tasting, a silent auction, Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle.
Proceeds from this year’s event benefit the YWCA of Warren. Tickets can be purchased from any Warren Rotarian, or Packard Music Hall at 330-841-2931 or visiting their on-line box office at packardmusichall.com or at the YWCA of Warren, 375 North Park Ave. Tickets will be available at the door.

BIRDING PROGRAM AT FARM: The Audubon Society of the Mahoning Valley will present “Birding as a Window into Nature” at 7 p.m. today at the Mill Creek Metroparks Farm in Canfield. Larry Richardson, a retired director of Lake Erie Nature and Science Center, will discuss discoveries he made while bird watching.
FALL PUMPKIN FESTIVAL SET: Glenn Christian Church, 5540 Parkman Road, N.W., Warren, will hold a fall pumpkin festival from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with a bonfire, hayride, party bounce, pumpkin carving and food.

BATTERY WELLNESS CLINIC: A battery wellness clinics sponsored by AAA East Central will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at AAA Trumbull County office, 937 Youngstown Warren Road, Niles.
AAA East Central will be hosting free battery wellness clinics at local AAA branches this October to celebrate Fall Car Care Month Last year, more than 108,000 motorists called AAA East Central for battery-related car concerns. Call 330-652-6466
GROUP TO MEET: Social Connections, a teen and young adult social group of the Autism Society of Ohio, Mahoning Valley, will hold a Behind the Scenes look at Youngstown State University Penguin football program from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The program is for ages 18 to 25.
Visits will tour the football locker room and offices, training sites and watch the team practice. There will be a visit with YSU mascots Pete and Penny Penguin.
COLUMNIST TO SPEAK: Tribune Chronicle humor columnist Burton Cole, whose first novel – “Bash and the Pirate Pig” released in September – will be speak on “How I Became an Overnight Success in Only 45 Years” at 6 p.m. today at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren. He will have copies of his book, written for children ages 8 to 12, with him.
