Founders Day open house set

OPEN HOUSE PLANNED: The Mahoning Valley Historical Society, Wick Avenue, Youngstown, is hosting a free Founders Day open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Arms Family Museum in celebration of the society’s 138th anniversary. The museum will be open for toy display, indoor and outdoor games and activities for all ages.

Executive Director Bill Lawson will lead a historical walk tour at 1:30 p.m. Call 330-743-2589. There will be refreshments and Good Humor ice cream.

BIRD PROGRAM: The Bristol Public Library will present “Interested in Birds” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. Amy Reeher, watershed coordinator with Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District, will present a program about the birds of Trumbull County backyards. A handout will describe how individuals can attract birds and other wildlife to your backyard. Seating is limited. Call 330-889-3631.

BOOK AND PURSE SALE: Christ Episcopal Church, 2627 Atlantic St. N.E., Warren, will hold a book and purse sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Parish Hall.
