Meet the team in Southington

CAR SHOW IN SOUTHINGTON: A car show and meet the football team will be among the activities to be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the football field and athletic complex off state Route 305. A dedication will take place of the new changes to athletic complex. A bake sale will be held.

UAW HOSTS RIDE: UAW Local 1112 Care and Share “Rollin’ the Dice” Bike Run will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at UAW Local union hall, 1147 Reuthers Drive S.W., Warren. Registration is at 9 a.m. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Care and Share food giveaway held in December.

AN EVENING UNDER THE STARS: The sixth annual Avamar Foundation Benefit “An Evening Under the Stars” hosted by Dr. Farid Naffah will be held at 5 p.m. Aug. 16 and 17 at the Cadobaz, 2747 Cadwallader Sonk Road, Bazetta. The event will feature “Zoso: The Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience,” food, paintings from national artist Ray Simon.

BEATITUDE HOUSE COLLECTS SUPPLIES: As the homeless and disadvantaged children served by Beatitude House prepare for the upcoming school year, they need the help of the community. A mock store is being set up at Beatitude House administrative offices where students can “shop” for needed school supplies. Donations of item are being sought and can be brought to 238 Tod Lane on the campus of St. Edward Parish.

FAKE FEST SET: Austintown Quaker Steak Lube, 5800 Interstate Blvd., will hold their second annual Fake Fest from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday. The free, all day, outdoor concert features tribute bands, vendors and drink specials. There will be different musical performances throughout the day starting at 1 p.m.

BUS TRIP PLANNED: New Hope United Methodist Church in Niles is sponsoring an Amish country bus trip to Berlin, Sugar Creek and Walnut Creek on Aug. 17. For information, call 330-652-0705.
