Golf, cruise-in to benefit police

BANDS TO PLAY AT EVENT: Several bands are scheduled to play at the four-person golf scramble and car cruise-in Saturday at the Bronzewood Golf Course, 645 Kinsman-Pymatuning, Kinsman. Proceeds will benefit the Kinsman Police Department. The event includes a 5K race, car cruise from noon to 5 p.m., Chinese auction, cornhole toss, hula hoop and volleyball. Bands scheduled from 1 to 10 p.m. are Gary Markasky at 1 p.m., Dry Town at 4 p.m., Radio Pulse at 7 p.m. and Crossover at 9 p.m. Registration for the 5K run / walk is at 6 a.m. with the start at 7 a.m. To sign up for the golf scramble which starts at 9 a.m. call 330-876-5300.

CLOTHING EVENT: Hope Baptist Church, 2020 S. Market St., Girard, will hold a clothing giveaway from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday.

CRISIS PROGRAM DEADLINE: The Trumbull Community Action Program’s Summer Crisis Program will end on Friday for income eligible households with an elderly member, 60 or older, or households that can provide physician documentation verifying that a household member would benefit from an air conditioner or continued electric service. BOOK SIGNING SET: Author Dennis A. Martin will hold a book signing from 9 a.m. to 1 pm. Saturday at the Daily Grind, Girard Coffee, 824 N. State St., Girard. Martin, a resident of Canfield, will be available to sign copies of his book, “Celubrious: A Celebration of Life.”
