Antique tractor show planned

ANTIQUE TRACTORS TO BE SHOWN: The Antique Tractor Club of Trumbull County will hold its 19th annual tractor show Friday to Aug. 18 at the club’s show grounds, 1653 Ridge Road, Vienna. This year’s featured tractor is the Ferguson.

The club will hosting the Ferguson Enthusiasts of North America, who will hold their Ferguson Expo 2013. Members from across North America are expected to attend and show their tractors.

Events start at 11 a.m. Friday with tractor games and garden tractor pull. Saturday’s events begin at 9 a.m. with tractor games, a parade and auction. On Sunday, there will be church services by Dan Schall Ministries at 9 a.m., a big tractor pull, and gospel music featuring the Fowler Worship Team at 11 a.m. There also will be demonstrations, a dance exhibition and Chinese auction.

Friday is Military Day with free admission to those with military identification. Those bringing a donation of non-perishable items or paper goods for the Warren Family Mission will be admitted free Friday only.

SOCIETY TO HEAR FROM HISTORIAN: The Trumbull County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society will meet at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday in the Thomas Meeting Room at the Warren Trumbull County Public Library. Speaker is Marci Buchanan, researcher and historian for the Mineral Ridge Historical Society. The topic is “Bringing the Mineral Ridge Area to Life.”

DONATION HELPS ACS: The Home Savings Foundation donated $5,000 to the American Cancer Society to defray the costs of the group’s annual golf outing, the Ladies Pink Ribbon Golf Tournament, which raises money for cancer research and other areas that help to reduce cancer incidence and death.

Since 1998, the Home Savings Charitable Foundation has provided more than $11 million of support to all communities served by Home Savings.

SUMMER CRISIS PROGRAM CONTINUES: Through the end of August, the Summer Crisis Program is available to eligible income Mahoning County households. This program is a component of the Home Energy Assistance Program providing assistance to low-income households with an elderly member, 60 or older, or households that can provide physician documentation that a household member would benefit from an air conditioner or continued electric service.

DONATIONS ACCEPTED: Area Walgreens stores across the country will accept donations of school supplies to Aug. 24, which will be distributed to students in communities surrounding the stores as part of the Kids In Need Foundation, a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free school supplies to economically disadvantaged school children and under-funded teachers.
