Road trip set for local educators

SCHOOL TO FARM ROAD TRIP PLANNED: The Ohio State University Extension will hold its School to Farm Road Trip from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. July 31.

The second annual tour has been developed to help school service personnel and school administration on how they can increase the use of local agricultural products in their school lunch programs, salad bars and at fundraisers and special events.

This year’s tours include the Geauga County Grower’s Auction in Middlefield and and tours of local foods in southern Ashtabula County. Pre-registration is required by July 24 at 330-638-6783.

EVENT CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS IN JULY: “Christmas in July” will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday and continue to 5 p.m. Saturday at Gallery 29, 146 E. State St., Sharon, Pa. TCTC HOLDS FUNDRAISER: The Trumbull Career and Technical Center Air Force Jr. ROTC Parents Group is holding a bake sale from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Duke and Duchess Shoppe, state Route 5.

MYCAP OFFERS FURNITURE: The Mahoning Youngstown Community Action Partnership (MYCAP) in Youngstown will have a basement sale from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at their main office, 1325 Fifth Ave. in Youngstown. All proceeds will be re-invested into MYCAP’s programs that help eligible Mahoning County residents.
