Ribbon-cutting to mark renovations

RIBBON-CUTTING PLANNED AT PARK: Howland Township Park Commissioners will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon Saturday at the Bolindale Park on the township’s west side to celebrate the renovations to the park pavilions. There will be free hot dogs and drinks from noon to 1 p.m.

PROGRAMS HELD AT CHURCH: The United Methodist Community Center Warren site will have all programs held at Warren First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Park Ave., Warren. Those programs include computer labs, line dancing, chair aerobics, book club and veterans’ lunch. For information, call 330-599-2554.

MAKING SCOOTERS: The Oh Wow! Roger and Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science and Technology, 11 W. Federal St., Youngstown, will offer “Make a Newton Scooter” from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. today for grades sixth to eighth and 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday for grades third to fifth.

Participants will make something that moves forward by pushing backward using Newton’s Third Law of Motion. The event will be held in the Oh Wow! Function Junction. Call 330-744-5914.

“Make it Squishy Circuits” will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday for pre-kindergarten to adult. Admission is free. Art Dale from ITT Technical Institute will share his knowledge of electricity through “Squishy Circuits.”
