Dog park to host fun day
DOG DAY AT THE LAKE: Doggie Fun Day at Mosquito Lake Dog Park will be held at noon Sunday at the dog park, State Route 305, Bazetta. There will be various games and activities for dogs and their owners. Prizes will be awarded in different competitions. Items will be sold to help benefit the park.
ASSOCIATION TO MEET ON HUMAN TRAFFICKING: The Southeast Side Community Association will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at the St. James White Hall,corner of Milton and Willard streets. There will be a presentation on human trafficking.
MAGIC SHOW PART OF READING PROGRAM: The Niles McKinley Memorial Library will present “Dig into Reading” with Tom Phoolery Magic Show at 11 a.m. Saturday in the museum auditorium.
MOTORS TO BE SHOWN: The sixth annual antique outboard motorboat meet will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Mosquito Lake State Park in Bazetta. The public can view old motors from various boats. For information, call Jerry at 330-638-4676.
ASSOCIATION TO MEET: I.V.A.N. (Inspirational voices 4 Autism Needs), a local support group for families of children in the autism spectrum are held bi-monthly from 7 to 8 p.m. every other Wednesday at Believers Church on Schenely Avenue, Howland, in the multi-purpose room. A light snack is provided with the meeting, and child care is provided to those who choose to utilize it. Next meeting is today.
GRANT PRESENTED: The Home Savings Charitable Foundation presented $30,000 to the American Cancer Society to help the agency continue to make a difference in eliminating cancer as a major health problem.
