VFW to provide flags for veterans

HUBBARD VFW PROVIDES FLAGS: The Hubbard VFW 3767 will provide flags for deceased veterans in the Hubbard cemeteries. The VFW plans to have flags properly decorated through the summer with an official flag holder and U.S. flag holder.

Anyone with veterans’ graves that need to be decorated can call Tony at 330-509-8669.

SOCIETY TO HEAR OF TORNADO TRAGEDY: The Vienna Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the township hall. Shawn Bryant will speak about the historic tornado of 1985. His presentation, “Trail of Tragedy,” lasts about 45 minutes to an hour.

Refreshments will be served. Those attending can bring memories of the tornado to share with the group.

SCOUTS OFFER SWIM EVENT: Girl Scouts of Northeast Ohio are offering American Red Cross lifeguard training courses from 3:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 3 to 7 and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 8.

OPEN HOUSE SET: The Learning Dog Training and Enrichment Center, 757 N. Main St., Hubbard, will hold an open house and fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday to help 11 local animal rescues. There will be door prizes, a Chinese auction and food. For information, call 330-534-4990.
