Community plans cleanup

CLEANUP PLANNED IN WARREN: The Southeast Side Community Association of Warren will hold a cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon Friday starting at the intersection of Thomas Road S.E. and Burton Street S.E. and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the intersection of Hazelwood Avenue S.E. and Colonial Street S.E. The Warren G. Harding football team is scheduled to participate.

SPRING CLEANING IN THE GARDENS: Warren Community Gardens spring cleanup and sign-up will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Roosevelt Community Garden and 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at Dickey Community Gardens.

A Downtown Warren Courthouse Square Farmers Market is being planned for May 31.

MOCK CRASH TO SEND MESSAGE: A mock automobile crash will be put on at 9 a.m. Friday at Newton Falls High School stadium. There will be a Prom Promise / SMASH program.

Participants include Newton Falls Police Department, Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office, Braceville Township Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, Newton Falls Joint Fire District and MetroHealth Center LifeFlight medical helicopter.

SQUARE DANCING IN BLOOMFIELD: The North Bloomfield Historical Society will hold square dancing and line dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the town hall, intersection of state Routes 87 and 45. The public is invited with no experience needed.

CENTER TO HOLD CEREMONY: A groundbreaking ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. May 18 for Antoine Village Assisted Living and Memory Care, 2675 N. Lipkey Road, North Jackson. Various honored guests will take part in the event with the new building located next to the Antoine Village.

TOWNSHIP HOLDS CLEANUP: Weathersfield Township is holding its spring cleanup program this week with the collection taking part with the regular garbage collection this week. Place items at curb on regular trash night.
