School plans dog walk benefit

DOG WALK PLANNED IN AUSTINTOWN: The Advanced Sophomore English Class at Jackson Milton High School is planning a three-mile dog walk to benefit Angels for Animals at 1 p.m. April 13 at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road. Teacher Angeline Theis and the students have mapped out a trail for dogs and their owners to walk for three miles.

Registration will be at 12:30 p.m. in the parking lot.

ASSOCIATION SETS MEETING: The Northwest Neighborhood Association will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at Grace United Methodist Church, Drexel Avenue, Warren. Guest speaker is Health Commissioner Bob Pinti.

The group is also planning to hold a candidates night on April 9.

SCHOOL AUCTION SET: Victory Christian School, Pleasant Valley Road, will hold an auction at 5 p.m. Friday in the school gymnasium. A live auction will be at 7 p.m.

CAMPAIGN EXTENDED: The Harvest for Hunger campaign has been extended through Sunday. Food donations may be placed in bins in any Giant Eagle Store and Sparkle Markets, and financial donations may be made at checkout by tearing off a coupon in the amount of $1, $5 or $10.

Harvest for Hunger is a monthlong food and funds drive that takes place during the month of March to help stock the shelves for the summer months when donations taper off and children are home from school. For information, call 330-792-5522, Ext. 11.

RAFFLE PLANNED BY GUILD: St. William Women’s Guild, 5431 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Champion, will hold 50-50 raffle and craft raffle at 1 p.m. Sunday. A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit a local charity.

ANNUAL GATHERING: The Liberty Historical Society annual gathering will be held at 6 p.m. April 20 at St. Mark’s Church in Liberty. Historical items will be displayed. There will be a Chinese auction and 50-50 drawing. For information, call Carol at 330-539-6591.
