Expert to show pruning technique

PRUNING TO BE DEMONSTRATED: A free public demonstration in pruning roses will be given at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Agriculture and Family Center Ohio State University Extension’s gardens at 520 W. Main St., Cortland. The gardens are maintained by the Trumbull County Master Gardeners. Rose expert and certified rose judge Tim Yova will demonstrate proper technique.

ASSOCIATION PLANS CLEANUP: The Perkins Neighborhood Association in Warren will hold its annual spring cleanup from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. Meet at the corner of Mahoning Avenue and Belmont Street to pick up tools, gloves and trash bags. Refreshments will be provided afterwards.

FRIENDS TO HOLD BOOK SALE: The Friends of the Newton Falls Public Library will host a book sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday on the second floor, 204 S. Canal St.

LIL LAMBS CLOSET EVENT: Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., will hold a Lil Lambs closet sale from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday. For information, call 330-638-6550.

MOCK ACCIDENT SET FOR STUDENTS: Brookfield Township Police and Fire departments will conduct a live presentation of a mock accident at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday for students at Brookfield High School, 614 Bedford Road. The event will teach students about the dangers of drinking and driving.
