Kids Fest planned at LaBrae schools
KIDS FEST PLANNED AT SCHOOL: Kids Fest will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at LaBrae Schools complex cafeteria off North Leavitt Road. The indoor carnival will include food, games, a live animal show with Jungle Terry and other activities. Game tickets are $1 each. Jungle Terry is at 10 a.m. at $1 admission. There will also be a Chinese auction.
Proceeds benefit River of Hope International, which works with schools in Ethiopia.
KINSMAN PLANS EGG PAINTING: Kinsman Free Public Library will hold egg painting class from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday and March 13 and 19. Participants can register any or all of the classes by calling 330-876-2461 or visiting the library. Class fee is $5 per class, which includes all materials. The program is for ages 14 and older.
HELPING THE FOOD BANK: Cortland Banks is teaming up with Second Harvest Food Bank in March to help generate donations of food and funds for those in need in the Mahoning Valley.
Throughout the month of March, Cortland Banks’ Mahoning and Trumbull county branches will make a donation for every checking account opened by a new deposit customer or referred by an existing customer. On behalf of each new customer in the Mahoning Valley who mentions Harvest for Hunger, Cortland Banks will make a $25 donation to Second Harvest Food Bank.

POSTER AND ESSAY CONTEST: The Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District is holding its annual poster and essay contests, open to all Trumbull County public, parochial and home-schooled students. The theme this year is “Where Does Your Water Shed?”
Trumbull County students in kindergarten to 12th grade may express their thoughts protecting watersheds through art or essay. More information on the theme is available at Stewardship and Education Section of the agency website, www.swcd.co.trumbull.oh.us.
