K-9 demo part of egg hunt

EVENT TO FEATURE K-9 DEMO: The Trumbull South Lodge 115 Easter egg hunt will also feature police and fire units on display, a Weathersfield police K-9 demonstration and a Stat MedEvac helicopter landing. The hunt will be held from noon to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mineral Ridge High School off state Route 46.

GROCERY GIVEAWAY: Deliverance Temple Church, 1849 West Ave. N.W., Warren, in conjunction with Youngstown Community Food Center, will hold a grocery distribution at 2 p.m. Thursday. Those needing items are asked to bring photo identification and a utility bill.

CLOTHES TO BE DISTRIBUTED: Cortland Trinity’s Closet will hold a free clothing distribution from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, 2576 McCleary Jacoby Road, Cortland. Entry is behind the church. The church is in need of children’s clothing.

GROUP TO MEET: Due to various ministries, events and activities, the Trumbull County Community of Christians meeting has been rescheduled for 8 a.m. Thursday at Champion Presbyterian Church.

SHADOW BOX EXHIBIT: The lobby of the Newton Falls Public Library, 204 S. Canal St., has a shadow box exhibit on display created by Charlotte Rokar. The boxes may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

PHYSICS COMPETITORS: The annual Physics Olympics will be held Saturday at Youngstown State University’s Kilcawley Center Chestnut Room. The event held each March involves high-school students in competitions designed to strengthen the mind, to demonstrate physics in applied settings and to have fun in 12 competitions.

Competitions include designing a mouse trap racer, bridge building and pingpong launch. Ninth to 12th grades will compete.
