Company helps LEAP with $10,0000 donation

HOWLAND – The Summer Enrichment / Life Enriching Activities Programs for Handicapped Children of Trumbull County were recently presented $10,000 from TMK IPSCO of Brookfield as part of their charity of choice for their recent corporate charity challenge.

Christina Brown, program coordinator, said the organizations teamed up for several activities this past year.

The employees and families of TMK IPSCO hosted an ice cream social for SEP / LEAP members and their families to kick off the challenge. Employees volunteered to set up and take down equipment for SEP camp. Together the organizations adopted a trail at Mosquito Lake Campground, which they maintained all summer.

TMK IPSCO employees and their families collected and donated a Keurig coffee machine and hundreds of dollars worth of coffee and teas for the SEP chinese auction and helped work the event.

Brown said TMK IPSCO hosted this years LEAP Christmas party, providing the venue, food and a gift for each member.

”The experience was truly rewarding for all those involved,” she said.

TMK IPSCO Brookfield presented its involvement with SEP / LEAP this past year at the national convention.

The presentation was selected by corporate, winning a grand prize of $10,000 for charity, Brown said.
