Crafts retreat set at church

CRAFTS EVENT SET: An all-day-all crafts retreat will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at North-Mar Church, 3855 E. Market St., Warren. Admission is free. Participants will have the opportunity to meet others who share craft and hobby interests. There will also be a time set aside to work on projects and classes teaching knitting, crocheting and how to make a gift bag mini album.

GROUP TO HEAR FROM SPEAKER: The Trumbull County Young Republicans will meet at 7 p.m. today at the Trumbull County Republican Headquarters, Eastwood Mall near Dillard’s. FREE SHOWCASE PLANNED: The Hippodrome Banquet Center in conjunction with Studio by the Shore and Your Event Your Way will sponsor a free bridal showcase from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hippodrome. Vendors will showcase various items for the public. A bridal show will be held at 2 p.m.

YOUTH HOLD FUNDRAISER: LaBrae school youth who are taking part in the People to People Student Ambassador summer trip to Europe are holding various fundraisers including a jewelry party with pre-orders being taken by calling Stacy at 330-219-6816 or Georgette at 330-442-4729.

GROUP RECEIVES GRANT: Earth Angel Farm has received a $4,200 grant from Neighborhood Success and Leadership Program of the Raymond John Wean Foundation. The grant will be used to help support individuals with physical and developmental disabilities and those underserved in the community through employment, education and socialization in an agricultural setting. Fundraisers are being planned to raise matching funds for the grant.
