Celebrating the world’s wetlands

WORLD WETLANDS DAY TO BE MARKED: The Trumbull Soil and Water Conservation District will hold a free movie night at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Trumbull County Agriculture and Family Education Center, 520 W. Main St., Cortland. The program “Vernal Pools: Diamonds in the Rough” will celebrate World Wetland Days. Refreshments will be served. Call 330-637-2056, Ext. 111.

ASSOCIATION TO HEAR FROM OFFICIALS: The Northwest Neighborhood Association of Warren will meet at 6:30 p.m. today at the Grace United Methodist Church, 1725 Drexel Ave. N.W. Guest speakers will be Warren City Council’s at-large members, who will address residents’ questions.

GUARDIAN ANGELS TO MEET: Guardian Angels of Ohio, a volunteer program of the Trumbull County Probate Court, are seeking volunteers who will receive training and become advocates who reach out as friends to seniors who may need a friendly visit or phone call. Angels help with planning special events. The next meeting is 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Perkins Restaurant, 1953 Niles Cortland Road S.E., Niles.
