Youth board to meet at library
YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD TO MEET: The Kids’ Advisory Board will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. N.W., Warren.
The board allows youth to have a voice about library items for children and tweens, library programs, books and movies. The board is for children in fourth to sixth grades. To register, call 330-399-8807, Ext. 401.
NOMINATIONS SOUGHT FOR AWARD: The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown is accepting nominations for the 15th annual presentation of the Eagle of the Cross Awards.
The nomination form is available at the diocesan website. Nominees in the Catholic high school category must attend one of the six Catholic high schools within the six-county Diocese of Youngstown. Nominations must be postmarked by Feb. 12 or delivered to the diocese by Feb. 15.

GRANT APPLICATIONS SOUGHT: The International Institute Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley, is calling for grant applications. The fund’s board will review and award grants to any 501(c)(3) organization within Mahoning and Trumbull counties that focuses on promoting the interests in and understanding of foreign-born people.

MYCAP SEEKS VOLUNTEERS: The Mahoning Youngtown Community Action Partnership will provide free basic tax service to eligible low- and moderate-income individuals, families and senior citizens. The annual VITA program offers free tax preparation assistance to those who need to file local, state and federal taxes, but who can’t afford to pay to have their taxes prepared. Volunteers are being sought to help learn basic tax information.
Training will be held on Jan. 19 and 26 in Room 2221 in the Williamson School of Business Building at Youngstown State University. Those who complete the training will then be able to assist eligible Mahoning County residents with their taxes on select dates and times in February and March at the MYCAP office, 1325 Fifth Ave., Youngstown.
