JCC lecture to be on fracking

FRACKING PART OF LECTURE SERIES: The Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane, Youngstown, will hold a J Cafe about “fracking” in Ohio from noon to 1:30 p.m. Jan. 17 in the center’s multipurpose room. Speaker is Dr. Jeffrey Dick, professor and chair of geological and environmental sciences and director of natural gas and water resource initiatives at Youngstown State University. SPEAKER SERIES CONTINUES: Glenwood Christian Fellowship, 7872 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, will present “Sounds and Grounds” live music and cafe night from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday. ALL DAY CRAFT EVENT SET: North-Mar Church, 3855 E. Market St., Warren, will hold a free craft retreat from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. SQUARE DANCING PLANNED: North Bloomfield Historical Society will hold square and line dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the town hall, state Routes 87 and 45.
