LIBRARY PLANS HISTORY ALIVE PROGRAM: The McKinley Memorial Library, 40 N. Main St., Niles, will present “History Alive: Meet President Theodore Roosevelt” at 1 p.m. Feb. 9 in the museum auditorium. Bob Hodder, a high school social studies teacher, who portrays Roosevelt, is a member of the first-person living historians troupe from northeastern Ohio, “We Made History” Presidential Living Historians. The program will include a general look at the life and accomplishments of the 26th president of the United States. FINANCIAL FAIR OFFERED: Agape Assembly Church, 426 Nevada Ave S.W., Warren, will hold a “Get Fit” Financial Health Fair from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today. There will be financial information and empowerment designed to uplift and educate consumers. Light refreshments and child care will be provided.
SCHOOL CELEBRATES MLK: Harding Elementary School, 1903 Cordova Ave., Youngstown, will hold a “Celebration of the Life and Works of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.” program at 10 a.m. Thursday in the school’s auditorium. The program will include songs and readings by the students. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Lewis W. Macklin II. The public is invited.
FOOD BANK RECEIVES DONATION: Wells Fargo awarded $3,000 from its Investing in Our Communities Grant to Second Harvest Food Bank to support the BackPack Program, which is needed to fill the gap on weekends and holidays when children are not in school. The food bank distributes food to 153 hunger relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull counties. These organizations include church pantries, homeless shelters and soup kitchens, shelters for battered women and after-school programs.
