America Makes gets $9M check from DOD award

YOUNGSTOWN — U.S. Rep. Timothy J. Ryan, D-Howland, presented a check for $9,045,915 Tuesday to America Makes in Youngstown.

The check is for Phase 3 of the Maturation of Advanced Manufacturing for Low-cost Sustainment (MAMLS), according to a news release from Ryan’s office.

The U.S. Department of Defense award for this third phase of activity is among the $30 million combined total from the defense budgets of fiscal years 2016, 2017 and 2018, the release states.

From this total, Youngstown State University, along with sub-contract awards to Youngstown Business Incubator and M-7 Technologies, received a total of $10,095,814.
