LOCAL HOSPITAL RECOGNIZED: St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital has been awarded the Gold Plus Quality Award for Heart Failure Care from the American Heart Association’s “Get with the Guidelines” program for the seventh year in a row.

The hospital was also added to the association’s Heart Failure Honor Roll list. The association measures heart failure care by the proper use of medications, aggressive risk-reduction therapies and the care transition and on-going patient monitoring.

NOPEC OFFERING FINANCING: The Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC) has been approved to administer a new U.S. Department of Agriculture low-interest loan program available to commercial property owners for energy efficiency property improvements.

NOPEC’s financing can be used to finance projects from $5,000 to $100,000 with a fixed 3 percent interest rate. Eligible project examples include interior and exterior lighting, windows and doors, insulation and HVAC. Some renewable energy projects like geothermal and solar water heating systems are also eligible.

HOSPITAL NAMES NEW HR CHIEF: Rhonda Larimore of Akron is the new chief human resources officer for Akron Children’s Hospital, which has locations in Trumbull and Mahoning counties. In the role, Larimore will oversee the development and implementation of human resources policies, programs and services that support the hospital’s mission, vision and service orientation.

Larimore comes to Akron Children’s Hospital with more than 20 years of experience in human resources, having most recently served as the vice president of human resources at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

NEW ASSOCIATE JOINS REAL LIVING VOLPINI: Terry Jarocki of Farmdale recently joined Real Living Volpini Realty Group as a new associate. Jarocki, who received his real estate training through Hondros online program, has 30 years experience in the insurance industry as an agent, in claims management and risk management.

He is a member of the National Association of Realtors, the Ohio Association of Realtors and the Warren Area Board of Realtors.
