• BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB RECEIVES CHECK: Home Savings Bank recently donated $5,000 to be used to sponsor the 2018 gala of the Boys and Girls Club of Youngstown. Germaine McAlpine, CEO / executive of the club, says the group serves more than 900 youth annually.

• 717 TO BREAK GROUND IN CANFIELD: Local leaders and community members will participate in the official ground breaking ceremony for 717 Credit Union’s new Canfield branch at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 19. The credit union currently has 12 branches.

• 717 PROMOTIONS: 717 Credit Union recently announced the promotion of Amy Suslovic as the Vienna branch manager, Mandi Kuhn as Howland branch manager and Lynn Gatts as Kent branch manager. Additionally, Wendy Munno will become assistant consumer lending manager, Carl Devorich will become Larchmont branch platform manager and Leman Shafer has been promoted to facilities manager.

• YSU NAMES TRUSTEE: Former chief executive of Siemens USA and Valley native Eric A. Spiegel will become Youngstown State University’s first national / global trustee. YSU president Jim Tressel praised Spiegel for more than three decades of leading global organizations.
