MANIOS AMONG PITT’S DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI: Longtime pharmacist Frank Manios, owner of Franklin Pharmacy & Health Care in Warren, is among the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy Distinguished Alumni 2017. Manios, a 1957 graduate of the institution, started his pharmacy career with Thrift Drug of Pennsylvania that same year. He founded Franklin Pharmacy in 1966. He served as president of Trumbull County Pharmacy Association from 1967 to 1968 and from 1968 to 1974 he was a member of the board of directors of the Ohio State Pharmacy that is now the Ohio Pharmacists Association. Manios, a longtime Warren resident, has received several awards and recognitions and has served on various community boards and committees. He is a trustee of the Trumbull County Public Library and a past president of the organization and member of St. Demetrios Church where he is a member of the Archbishop Iakovos Leadership 100 Fund, among other activities. He served in the Marines 1953 to 1955. He and his wife, Mary, have three children and three grandchildren.

YBI RECOGNIZES WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS: Youngstown Business Incubator’s Women in Entrepreneurship Program recognized Diane Sauer, president, Diane Sauer Chevrolet of Warren; Patsy Kouvasis, board vice chairwoman, AVI Food Systems; and Andrea Wood, publisher, The Business Journal. The three were honored recently during a banquet at Leo’s Banquet Center in Howland sponsored by Cortland Bank. The local and Mayfield Village branches represent the Stow-based company’s 10th and 11th expansions for the region.

BUILDERS SET ANNUAL METING: Builders Association of Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania has set its 48th annual meeting for 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Lake Club, 1140 Paulin Road, Poland

FAIRWAY MORTGAGE OPENS NEW BRANCHES: Northern Ohio Fairway Independent Mortgage group has opened its 11th branch at 8720 E. Market St., Suite 7, Warren. The Stow-based company, founded in 1999, in the past two years has grown from three locations and nine loan officers to 11 branches and over 30 lenders.
