Valley auto dealers report rise in Oct. sales

Sims, Diane Sauer, Klaben lead the county

WARREN — Area automobile dealers reported an increase in year-over-year sales for October.

There were 4,844 new and used vehicles sold last month, up from 4,464 in October 2016, at dealerships in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties, according to data from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association.

There were 5,056 new and used cars and trucks sold in September.

Year to date, there were 50,601 new and used vehicle sales as of Oct. 31, up from 44,998 the first nine months of last year.

Last month, there were 2,806 new vehicles sold across the Mahoning Valley versus 2,451 in October 2016.

There were 2,988 new vehicles sold in September.

As of Oct. 31, Valley dealerships sold 28,971 new vehicles over the 24,840 sold in the first 10 months of 2016.

There were 1,942 used vehicles sold in October, down slightly from 1,948 last year, and 20,503 year to date compared with 19,186 as of Oct. 31, 2016.

Trumbull County dealerships with the most sales were Sims Buick GMC Truck with 150; Diane Sauer Chevrolet of Warren, 112; Klaben Ford Lincoln of Warren, 106; Toyota Volvo of Warren, 104; and Apostolakis Honda, 95.
