Area auto dealers see September sales hike

WARREN — Area automobile dealers reported an uptick in year-over-year sales for September.

There were 5,056 new and used vehicles sold last month, up from 4,488 in September 2016, at dealerships in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties, according to data from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association.

Year to date, there were 45,724 new and used vehicle sales as of Sept. 30, up from 40,627 the first nine months of last year.

Last month, there were 2,988 new vehicles sold across the Mahoning Valley versus 2,534 in September 2016.

As of Sept. 30, Valley dealerships sold 26,274 new vehicles over the 22,474 sold in the first nine months of 2016.

There were 1,989 used vehicles sold in September, up from 1,895 last year, and 18,598 year to date compared with 17,380 as of Sept. 30, 2016.

Trumbull County dealerships with the most sales were Sims Buick GMC Truck with 162; Greenwood’s Hubbard Chevrolet, 151; Diane Sauer Chevrolet of Warren, 140; Apostolakis Honda, 125; and Klaben Ford Lincoln of Warren, 111.
