Trumbull County home sales rise 14.6 percent during May

WARREN — Home sales in Trumbull County increased 14.6 percent in May compared to the same month last year.

There were 227 closed sales in the county in May, up from 198 the same month the prior year, according to the Warren Area Board of Realtors.

Year over year, pending sales rose 41.8 percent, from 194 in May 2016 to 275 last month. New listings fell 16.2 percent, from 333 in May 2016 to 279 last month.

The median sales price rose 14.5 percent, from $76,000 to $87,000, while the average sales price rose 17.5 percent, from $88,072 to $103,443.

The number of days homes were on the market increased 2.8 percent, from 109 to 112. Inventory was down 29.5 percent from 1,103 to 778.

In Mahoning County, closed sales rose 0.4 percent, from 249 in May 2016 to 250 last month, according to the Youngstown / Columbiana County Association of Realtors.

When comparing last month with May 2016, new listings fell 3.3 percent, from 368 to 356; pending sales rose 34.7 percent, from 259 to 349; the median sales price increased 3.5 percent, from $86,000 to $89,000; the average sales price rose 2.9 percent, from $114,146 to $117,432; the number of days homes were on the market declined 24.2 percent, from 132 to 100; and inventory was down 32.5 percent, from 1,433 to 967.
