Valley auto sales up 18 percent

WARREN — Auto sales jumped more than 18 percent across the Mahoning Valley in April compared to the same month last year.

Last month, 5,021 new and used vehicles were sold in Trumbull, Mahoning and Columbiana counties, according to data from the Greater Cleveland Automobile Dealers Association.

That compares to 4,322 in April 2016. Year-to-date, as of April 30, there were 19,699 new and used vehicles sold in the region, up from 17,576 the same period last year.

Year-over-year for April, sales of new cars and trucks totaled 2,805, up from 2,155, while there were 2,147 used vehicles sold, up from 2,000.

Comparing year-to-date numbers, there were 11,384 new vehicles sold as of April 30, up from 9,603 in 2016, and 7,982 used, up from 7,684.

Diane Sauer Chevrolet in Warren was the automobile dealer to sell the most vehicles in Trumbull County last month with 130 new cars and trucks, up from 106 in April 2016.
