MCCTC SALON OPENS: The Salon at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center is open 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cosmetology students will offer haircuts, styling, hair color, manicures, pedicures, facials and hair removal. Services are performed by the students under the supervision of their licensed instructor.

STEPHENS PROMOTED TO PRINCIPAL: Tracie L. Stephens, CPA, was promoted to the position of principal at Schroedel, Scullin & Bestic LLC. She will continue to concentrate on the areas of business consulting, employee benefit plan audits and accounting / auditing, with an emphasis on manufacturing clients while playing a key role in the firm’s administration and human resource management.
Stephens attended the University of Akron and earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, Youngstown / Warren Regional Chamber, Dover Club and Society of Human Resource Management. She participates in the AICPA Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center and the YSU College of Business 2016 Mentorship Program.
NEOMED BOARD NAMES OFFICERS: Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) Board of Trustees appointed a new member and re-elected two executive committee officers. J. David Heller, CPA, and Robert J. Klonk, as its chair and vice chair, respectively, were each re-elected for additional one-year terms.
Heller is co-founder and principal of the NRP Group, a property developer, general contractor and property management company. Klonk is the CEO of The Oswald Companies — an insurance brokerage firm based in Cleveland.
James M. Guirguis was appointed to the NEOMED Board of Trustees by Gov. John R. Kasich for a two-year term that ends June 29, 2018. He is a second-year medicine student at NEOMED. Enrolled in the NEOMED-CSU Partnership for Urban Health, he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology in May 2015 from Cleveland State University, where he also was involved in student government.
LAW FIRM ADDS LITIGATOR: Harrington, Hoppe & Mitchell Ltd. announced Jacqueline M. Johnston has joined the law firm as an associate attorney based in the Youngstown office. She has been practicing law since 2012 and is experienced in criminal defense, family law litigation, personal injury and negligence matters.
Before joining HHM, which also has offices in Warren and Salem, Johnston practiced with the Weisenburger Law Offices in Ravenna and was with the Dickson Law Firm in Beachwood. Johnston received her juris doctor degree from the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University. She holds a bachelor of arts degree from Ohio University.
