Involta to acquire DRS

YOUNGSTOWN – Iowa-based Involta is set to acquire locally connected DRS.

The two companies announced the move jointly on Thursday.

The combined operation “positions Involta as a powerhouse in the Ohio market,” and gives the company a huge presence in the Cleveland to Pittsburgh corridor with the ability to expand its footprint,” Carl Gordulic, DRS president and COO, said.

Acquired assets include more than 5,500 fiber miles in Ohio and western Pennsylvania, two Youngstown-based data centers owned and operated by DRS, an operations management agreement for the WeConnect Community Data Center near Columbus, and data center space in Pittsburgh leased by DRS.

DRS operates several IT consulting firms in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Involta provides managed IT and data center services nationwide.
