Area ranked among most affordable
WARREN – An online provider of financial tools and data has ranked the Youngstown-Warren area as the ninth most affordable city in America.
NerdWallet.com, which bills itself as “home to teams of financial ‘Nerds’ who crunch numbers and gather the information needed to help consumers save time and money,” based the ranking on data collected from the Council for Community and Economic Research’s 2013 Annual Report.
With the national average at 100, an index score of affordability for Youngstown-Warren came in at 86.5. A lower cost of living index signifies greater affordability relative to the average city. The most affordable city was listed as Harlingen, Texas, with 81.6.
