RTI reports sales increase

WEATHERSFIELD – RTI International Metals reported Thursday its net sales for 2013 increased 12 percent, or $83.3 million, to $783.3 million from $700 million in 2012.

Titanium mill product shipments last year amounted to 16.3 million pounds compared to 16.5 million pounds the previous year.

RTI, which employs about 350 workers at its plant in Weathersfield, manufactures titanium and specialty metal products for aerospace, defense, energy, medical device and other industries.

During 2013 the company completed 787 seat track deliveries for Boeing.

“The new year is off to an exciting start with our acquisition of RTI Directed Manufacturing, Inc.,” said Dawne Hickton, vice chair, president and CEO of RTI. “This acquisition places RTI at the forefront of Additive Manufacturing with a commercial presence in the 3-D printing of titanium, other specialty metal and plastic parts for aerospace, medical device and other industrial customers.”

RTI’s 2014 outlook projects another year of continued growth in revenues and operating income.

The company expects to achieve $800 million in net sales.
