TEDx speakers come to YSU

YOUNGSTOWN – The founder of Priceline.com, U.S. Rep. Timothy J. Ryan and 16 others are scheduled to share brief stories of their life experiences during a series of talks known as TEDx scheduled for Youngstown State University.

TEDx are a series of local, self-organized conferences held across the nation to share ideas. More than 5,000 TEDx events have been held worldwide and selected talks from these events are also turned into TED Talks videos. It is the first time the event is being held in Youngstown, according to event planners. The event, themed “Innovation,” will be held at Williamson College of Business Administration at YSU.

Tickets are no longer available, but the event is scheduled to be streamed live between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. today at tedxyoungstown.com/watch/

Scheduled speakers for the series are Ewelina Boczkowska and Cicilia Yudha; Leslie Brothers; Tony DeAscentis; Adam Earnheardt; Colonel (R) Al Faber; Jim Fogarty; Kathleen Fox; Rob Gorham; Wil Harris; Jeff Hoffman; Michael Kovach; Dave Morgan and Amanda Powell; Steven Beverburg Reale; Ryan; Dennis Schiraldi; Rose Shaffer; Brian Sinchak; and Cori Todd.

Hoffman is founder and former CEO for Priceline.com. An accomplished entrepreneur and innovator in the fields of Internet, e-commerce, and entertainment. He has founded and grown a series of successful startup companies in his career, guiding his companies to both acquisitions and public offerings.
