Brown seeks help for Delphi salaried retirees
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Sen. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, said he is calling on Senate Republicans to work with Democrats to pass a bill that would extend health coverage tax credit for Delphi salaried retirees.
Brown condemned those Republicans who refusing to pass a proposal to extend the Health Coverage Tax Credit for one year for Delphi salaried retirees and other affected workers.
The tax credit was put in place for this year to help retirees who lost their health care coverage. The HCTC helps affected retirees purchase private health coverage to replace the employer-sponsored coverage they lost by providing a 72.5 percent tax credit.
