New local development announced
CORTLAND – Renovation plans are under review by the Trumbull County Building Department for a new full-service restaurant and bar planned for Niles Cortland Road in Cortland.
Beef O’Brady’s in Cortland is just one of several new or relocated businesses planned for Trumbull County communities, according to plans filed with the county building department. Others include a Five Guys restaurant in Howland and a relocated Taylor Rental location in Bazetta. Plans also were recently announced for a new Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant along Elm Road in Bazetta Township.
Beef O’Brady’s plans filed with the county building department for work at the vacant building located at 3660 Niles Cortland Road, include a complete exterior facelift and interior renovation of the kitchen and bar area. Plans are moving forward after voters last week approved two ballot liquor options permitting Beef O’Brady’s to serve beer, liquor and mixed drinks for on- and off-premise sales Monday through Saturday, and for Sunday sales of wine, liquor and mixed drinks.
“I am just happy that a vacant building is going to be put to a commercially viable use,” said Cortland Service Director Don Whittman. “I think its close proximity to the schools will give attendees to football and basketball games an option for dining after the games.”
Messages left seeking comment from the franchisee, Richard Pregibon of Fowler, were not returned.
Other area construction includes a Five Guys Burger and Fries restaurant at Mines Road and state Route 46 in Howland. Taylor Rental along Elm Road in Bazetta also is expanding into new construction further north on the same roadway. Both buildings are under construction.
