Farmers Bank names new president

CANFIELD – Farmers National Bank’s board of directors on Thursday announced Kevin J. Helmick of Howland as president and chief executive officer.

Helmick, 41, has been serving as interim president and CEO since last month. He takes over for John Gulas, who was terminated by the board.

Helmick has spent his entire 18-year professional career with Farmers, most recently as the company’s executive vice president of retail and wealth management, as well as corporate secretary for the holding company.

“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Helmick into this expanded role,” stated Lance Ciroli, chairman, Farmers National Banc Corp. board of directors.

Helmick is a graduate of Mathews High School, Vienna. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa., and his MBA from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

He is a certified financial planner, financial adviser representative, Series 24 NYSE principal and Series 7 NYSE registered representative and has an Ohio life insurance license. He lives in Howland with his wife and son.
